Unpacking and Parts Identification

Unpack and inspect all contents. Ensure you have the following:

  1. PT1750 P-touch Labeler main unit.
  2. 6 AA alkaline batteries.
  3. Sample tape cassette (installed).
  4. User's Manual (this document).
  5. Warranty information.

WARNING! Keep plastic bags away from children to avoid suffocation hazard. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

Installing the Battery

Power the labeler using AA batteries or optional AC adapter.

  1. Turn the labeler over and locate the battery compartment cover.
  2. Slide the cover in the direction of the arrow and lift it off.
  3. Insert 6 new AA alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the cover and slide it back into place until it clicks.
  5. Press the POWER key to turn on the labeler. The LCD will illuminate.

CAUTION! Use only recommended batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.

Loading the Tape Cassette

  1. Ensure the labeler is turned off.
  2. Press the cassette cover release button and open the cover.
  3. Remove any old cassette by lifting it out.
  4. Insert a new tape cassette with the tape end feeding towards the cutter slot. Ensure it sits flat.
  5. Close the cassette cover firmly until it clicks.
  6. Turn on the labeler. The tape width will be detected automatically.

Tip: Always use genuine Brother TZe tape cassettes for optimal performance.

Basic Operation

Creating and printing your first label.

Creating Text: Use the keyboard to type your label text. The LCD displays up to 2 lines.

Formatting: Use the FONT key to cycle through fonts. Use the SIZE key to select small, medium, or large. Use the STYLE key for bold, italic, underline, or outline.

Adding Frames: Press the FRAME key to select from various decorative borders.

Printing: Press the PRINT key. The label will be printed and automatically fed. Press the CUT lever to cut the label.

Clearing Text: Press the ESC key to clear the current text and start over.

Advanced Functions

Access advanced features via the FUNCTION key.

  1. Numbering: Print sequential numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3).
  2. Memory: Store up to 9 labels in memory for quick recall (MEM key).
  3. Preview: View the label length and layout before printing.
  4. Mirror Printing: Print text in reverse (useful for glass or transparent surfaces).
  5. Symbols: Access a library of symbols and special characters.
  6. Auto-Format: Automatically center or justify text on the label.
  7. Tape Cut Mode: Set to cut automatically after each print or manually.

WARNING! Do not pull the tape out manually; always use the cutter lever. Keep fingers away from the cutter blade.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug AC adapter or remove batteries before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth only; do not use liquids or aerosols.

Cleaning the Cutter Blade: If print quality declines or tape jams, use a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the cutter blade. Allow to dry completely before use.

CAUTION! The cutter blade is sharp. Handle with care. Do not spray any liquids directly into the unit.
