Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into power port and wall outlet (optional).
  3. Load tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with adhesive side down, close cover.
  4. Power on: Press POWER button; LCD will illuminate.

WARNING! Use only recommended batteries and adapter. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Loading Tape Cassettes

  4. Close cover firmly until it clicks.
  5. Power on; press FEED to advance tape to cutter position.

CAUTION! Do not force cassette; ensure correct orientation. Use only Brother-approved tape cassettes.

Creating Labels

Basic label creation steps.

  1. Press POWER to turn on.
  2. Type text using keyboard; view on LCD.
  3. Format text: Use FONT, SIZE, STYLE buttons.
  4. Add frames/symbols: Press FRAME or SYMBOL, select with arrow keys.
  5. Print: Press PRINT; label prints and automatically cuts if AUTO CUT is on.
  6. Manual cut: Press CUT lever if AUTO CUT is off.
  7. Multiple copies: Enter number of copies before printing.

Tip: Preview label on LCD before printing to save tape.

Advanced Functions

Memory: Save label by pressing STORE, assign number. Recall with RECALL. Mirror Printing: For application to inside of glass/windows. Serial Numbering: Create sequential labels. Tape Saver: Reduce margin between labels.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Power off and remove batteries/adapter before cleaning. Use dry, soft cloth to wipe exterior. Clean cutter blade with cotton swab if adhesive residue accumulates.
