Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment on the back, insert 6 AA batteries observing correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Load tape cassette: Open the cassette cover, insert a Brother TZe tape cassette with the cutting edge facing out, close the cover firmly.
  3. Connect optional AC adapter: Plug the adapter into the DC IN 6V port on the side, then into a wall outlet.
  4. Turn on the power switch.

WARNING! Use only recommended Brother TZe tapes. Do not force the cassette cover. Ensure batteries are installed correctly to avoid damage.

First-Time Setup

Power on the labeler; the LCD will illuminate.

  1. Set language: Press the Function (Fn) key, then use the cursor keys to select LANGUAGE, press Enter, choose your language (e.g., ENGLISH).
  2. Set auto power off: In the same menu, select AUTO POWER OFF and set the duration (e.g., 5 minutes) to conserve battery.
  3. Set tape width: The device usually auto-detects the installed tape width. Verify on the display.
  4. Perform a test print: Type a few characters and press PRINT to ensure proper operation.

  2. For AC adapter: Connect the adapter to the labeler first, then plug into a 120V AC outlet. The labeler will prioritize AC power.
  3. Power management: Use the AUTO POWER OFF setting to conserve energy.

Tip: For frequent use, the AC adapter is recommended to save battery life.

Creating and Printing Labels

Supports text labels with various formatting.

  1. Enter text: Use the keyboard to type your label text. The LCD shows the input.
  2. Format text: Press FONT to select style and size. Press FRAME to choose a border.
  3. Edit text: Use the cursor keys to move, BACKSPACE to delete.
  4. Print: Press PRINT. The label will feed out and be automatically cut (or use the manual cutter lever if equipped).
  5. Multiple copies: Before printing, press the Number key (e.g., 2) then PRINT to make multiple copies.
  6. Preview: The LCD shows a representation of the label layout before printing.

WARNING! Do not pull the tape during printing. Allow the cutter to complete its cycle. Keep the print head clean.

Advanced Functions

Serial Numbering: Create labels with sequential numbers. Memory Storage: Store frequently used labels in memory slots (capacity varies). Mirror Printing: For creating labels to be viewed from the opposite side (e.g., on glass).

Care & Maintenance

Turn off and remove batteries before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Clean the print head with a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol if print quality degrades.

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse the labeler in water. Store in a cool, dry place.
