Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries (optional for portable use).
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into power port and wall outlet.
  3. Load tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape, close cover securely.
  4. Power on: Press POWER button; LCD will illuminate.

WARNING! Use only Brother-approved tape cassettes and power adapter. Do not force cassette cover.

CAUTION! Do not touch print head; ensure tape is properly aligned. Use correct tape width for cassette.

Creating Labels

Create labels using keyboard and function keys.

  1. Press POWER to turn on.
  2. Type text using keyboard; use Shift for capitals.
  3. Press FONT to change font style; SIZE to adjust text size.
  4. Add frames or symbols using FRAME and SYMBOL keys.
  5. Preview on LCD; press PRINT to print label.
  6. Press CUT to cut tape manually, or enable auto-cut.

Tip: Use preview to check label before printing to conserve tape.

Advanced Functions

Serial numbering: Print sequential numbers. Memory: Store up to 9 labels for quick recall. Mirror printing: For inside application on transparent tape. Vertical text: Rotate text 90 degrees.

Maintenance & Care

Unplug or remove batteries before cleaning. Use dry, soft cloth; no liquids or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Keep printer away from dust, heat, and moisture. Replace tape when low to avoid print issues.
