Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries observing correct polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter (optional): Plug adapter into port and into wall outlet.
  3. Load tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with window facing up, close cover.
  4. Power on: Slide POWER switch to ON position.

WARNING! Use only Brother TZe series tape cassettes. Incorrect tape may damage the printer.

Loading Tape Cassettes

Use only Brother TZe series laminated tape cassettes.

  1. Turn power OFF.
  2. Open cassette cover by pressing release button.
  3. Insert cassette with tape end toward print mechanism and window facing up.
  4. Close cover firmly until it clicks.
  5. Power ON; tape will automatically feed to starting position.

Tip: Ensure tape path is clear and cassette is fully seated.

Creating Labels

Basic label creation steps.

  1. Power ON; ensure tape is loaded.
  2. Type text using keyboard; see preview on LCD.
  3. Format text: Use FONT, SIZE, STYLE keys as desired.
  4. Add frame or symbol: Press FRAME or SYMBOL, select option.
  5. Set length: Press LENGTH for auto or manual length setting.
  6. Print: Press PRINT; label prints and feeds out.
  7. Cut: Use built-in cutter to cut label from tape.

WARNING! Do not pull tape during printing. Keep fingers away from cutter.

Advanced Functions

Auto Numbering: Press AUTO NUMBER, enter start value and format, print multiple copies. Memory: Store up to 9 labels; press MEMORY, select slot to save/recall. Mirror Printing: Press MIRROR before printing for application on clear tape. Sequential Printing: Create multiple labels with incremental numbers or text variations.

Care & Maintenance

Turn off and remove batteries before cleaning. Use dry, soft cloth; do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Keep tape compartment clean; avoid dust and debris. Replace cutter blade if dull.
