Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Insert Tape Cassette: Open the cassette cover, insert the tape with the window side up, and close the cover until it clicks.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the AC adapter into the DC IN jack on the side of the unit, then plug the adapter into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  3. Power On: Press the POWER button. The LCD should illuminate.
  4. Initialize: The unit may perform a brief self-test. Wait for the display to show the text entry screen.

WARNING! Use only Brother TZe tape cassettes. Do not force the cassette or cover. Ensure the power adapter is the correct model (AD-24ES).

First-Time Use

Power on the label maker; follow these basic steps to create your first label.

  1. Enter Text: Use the QWERTY keyboard to type your label text. It will appear on the LCD.
  2. Format Text: Use the FONT key to cycle through fonts, SIZE for size, and STYLE for bold/italic/underline.
  3. Preview: The tape length indicator shows how much tape will be used.
  4. Print: Press the PRINT button. The label will be printed and laminated.
  5. Cut: After printing, slide the cutter lever forward to cut the label.
  6. Apply: Peel the backing paper off and apply the label to a clean, dry surface.

CAUTION! Keep fingers clear of the cutter lever when operating. Do not pull the tape out manually.

Creating Labels

  5. Press STYLE to apply bold, italic, or underline.
  6. Press FRAME to add a border around your text.
  7. Press SYMBOL to insert a symbol from the library.
  8. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor for editing.
  9. Press PRINT to print the label. The unit will feed the tape automatically.
  10. Use the cutter lever to cut the label. Peel and apply.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug or remove batteries before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Clean the cutter blade gently with a cotton swab if adhesive residue builds up.
