Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Insert tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with printed side facing out, close cover.
  3. Connect AC power (optional): Plug adapter into port and into wall outlet.
  4. Power on: Press the POWER button.

WARNING! Use only recommended Brother TZe tape cassettes. Do not force the cassette or cutter mechanism.

First-Time Operation

Power on the label maker; the LCD will illuminate.

  1. Enter text: Use the keyboard to type your label text. It appears on the LCD.
  2. Format text: Press FUNCTION, then use arrow keys to select font, size, style (bold, underline, etc.).
  3. Add frames/symbols: Press FUNCTION, then FRAME or SYMBOL to browse and select.
  4. Print the label: Press PRINT. The label will print and be cut automatically.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the cutter area during operation.
