Installation & Power

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, flat surface.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into port and into wall outlet (optional).
  3. Insert tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with printed side facing out, close cover.
  4. Power on: Slide POWER switch to ON position.

WARNING! Use only Brother recommended AC adapter and TZe tape cassettes. Do not mix old and new batteries.

First-Time Setup

Power on the label maker; LCD will illuminate.

  1. Set language: Press FUNCTION, then LANGUAGE to select English (default).
  2. Set tape width: Machine detects tape automatically; confirm on display.

Memory: Store up to 9 labels. Press STORE, select number, then RECALL to use. Sequential Numbering: Print labels with incrementing numbers. Mirror Printing: For creating labels to view from opposite side (e.g., windows).

Tape Replacement

When tape runs out or to change color/width:

  1. Power off the label maker.
  2. Open cassette cover by pressing release latch.
  3. Remove old cassette.
  4. Insert new TZe cassette with printed side facing out and arrow aligned.
  5. Close cover firmly until it clicks.
  6. Power on; machine will recognize new tape.

WARNING! Do not touch print head. Use only genuine Brother TZe tapes.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug AC adapter and remove batteries before cleaning. Use dry, soft cloth to wipe exterior. For print head, use cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol (do not drip).

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep away from liquids and extreme temperatures.
