Getting Started

Prepare the label maker for first use.

Tape Cassette Installation

Install or replace the tape cassette.

  2. Slide the cassette cover release lever and open the cover.
  3. Remove the old cassette (if present).
  4. Insert the new tape cassette with the Brother logo facing up and the tape exit towards the cutter.
  5. Press the cassette down until it clicks into place.
  6. Close the cover firmly until it clicks.
  7. Power on. The tape width should be detected automatically.

CAUTION! Do not touch the print head. Do not force the cassette.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug adapter and remove battery before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or wet cloth.

Print Head Cleaning: If print quality declines, use a dry cotton swab to gently wipe the print head (visible when cassette compartment is open).

CAUTION! Never use sharp objects to clean the print head. Store in a cool, dry place.
