Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Connect power: Plug the AC adapter into the DC IN jack on the side of the unit, then into a wall outlet.
  2. Load tape: Open the cassette cover, insert a TZe tape cassette with the tape exiting toward the front, and close the cover.
  3. Power on: Press the POWER button. The display will light up.
  4. Set language: Use the FUNCTION key to select your preferred language from the menu.

WARNING! Use only Brother TZe tape cassettes and the provided AC adapter to avoid damage.

First-Time Use

Power on the label maker; follow on-screen prompts.

Loading Tape Cassettes

Only use genuine Brother TZe tape cassettes.

  2. Open the cassette cover by pressing the release button.
  3. Insert the cassette with the tape exiting toward the front and the Brother logo facing up.
  4. Close the cover firmly until it clicks.
  5. Power on. The display will show the loaded tape width.

Tip: Ensure the tape path is clear and the cassette is fully seated.

Creating Labels

Supports text, symbols, and sequential numbering.

  1. Enter text: Type using the keyboard. Use SHIFT for uppercase and symbols.
  2. Format text: Press FUNCTION, then select FONT, SIZE, or STYLE to modify.
  3. Add frames: Press FUNCTION, then FRAME to choose a decorative border.
  4. Preview: Check the display before printing.
  5. Print: Press PRINT. The label prints and cuts automatically.
  6. Manual cut: Press CUT during or after printing if needed.

WARNING! Do not pull the tape during printing; allow the cutter to operate.

Advanced Functions

Sequential Numbering: Create a series of numbered labels. Memory: Store up to 10 frequently used labels for quick recall. Mirror Printing: Print text in reverse for application on the inside of glass or transparent surfaces. Auto Power-Off: Saves battery by turning off after a period of inactivity (adjustable in settings).

Care & Maintenance

Unplug or remove batteries before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Clean the cutter blade only with a dry brush; do not use liquids.
