Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials. Inspect contents.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment on bottom, insert 6 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter (optional): Plug AD-24 adapter into DC IN 6V port, then into wall outlet.
  3. Load tape cassette: See Section 3 for detailed instructions.
  4. Power on: Press the POWER button. The LCD should illuminate.

Loading the Tape Cassette

Ensure the machine is powered on.

  1. Press the cassette cover release button and open the cover fully.
  2. Insert a Brother TZe tape cassette with the tape end feeding towards the right side (guide marks inside compartment).
  3. Ensure the cassette clicks into place. Manually feed the tape end into the tape guide slot if necessary.
  4. Close the cassette cover firmly until it clicks.
  5. The LCD will show the tape width. If incorrect, power off and reinsert cassette.

CAUTION! Do not force the cassette or cover. Use only genuine Brother TZe tape cassettes.
