Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries (optional, if not using AC adapter).
  2. Connect AC Adapter: Plug adapter into DC IN 6V jack and into a wall outlet.
  3. Load Tape Cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with window facing up, close cover.
  4. Power On: Press the POWER button. The LCD will illuminate.

WARNING! Use only Brother TZe tape cassettes. Do not force the cassette cover. Keep small parts away from children.

Loading the Tape Cassette

Ensure the power is OFF before loading tape.

  1. Open the cassette cover by sliding the latch and lifting the cover.
  2. Insert a TZe tape cassette with the tape coming from the bottom and the transparent window facing up.
  3. Gently press the cassette down until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the cassette cover firmly until it latches.
  5. Turn power ON. The tape will automatically feed to the cutting position.

Tip: Always use genuine Brother TZe tapes for optimal performance and to avoid damage.

Creating a Basic Label

Follow these steps to create and print a simple label.

  1. Press POWER to turn on the unit.
  2. Type your desired text using the keyboard. Use Backspace to correct.
  3. Press FONT to select a font style (e.g., Gothic, Script).
  4. Press SIZE to select a font size (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large).
  5. (Optional) Press FRAME to add a decorative border.
  6. Preview your text on the LCD display.
  7. Press PRINT. The label will print and automatically cut.
  8. Peel off the backing and apply the label.

WARNING! Do not touch the cutter blade. Keep fingers away during printing and cutting.

Maintenance & Care

Unplug AC adapter/remove batteries before cleaning.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

  3. Tape Path: If tape jams, refer to troubleshooting. Do not use sharp objects to clear jams.
