Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into DC IN port and into wall outlet.
  3. Load tape cassette: Follow instructions in Loading Tape Cassette section.
  4. Power on: Press the POWER button.

WARNING! Use only Brother TZe tape cassettes. Incorrect tape may damage the printer.

Loading Tape Cassette

Power off the device before loading tape.

  1. Open cassette cover: Slide the cover release lever and lift the cover.
  2. Insert cassette: Place cassette with tape end facing outward and window visible.
  3. Thread tape: Ensure tape passes under the guide and between the cutter blades.
  4. Close cover: Press down until it clicks securely.
  5. Power on: Press POWER; the display will show tape width confirmation.

CAUTION! Do not touch the cutter blade. Keep fingers clear when closing cover.
