Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 6 AA batteries (optional).
  2. Load tape cassette: Open cassette cover, insert tape with printed side facing up, close cover.
  3. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into power port and into wall outlet.
  4. Power on: Press the POWER button to turn on the label maker.

WARNING! Use only Brother-approved tape cassettes. Do not force the cassette into the compartment.

First-Time Setup

Power on the label maker; follow on-screen prompts on LCD.

  1. Set language: Press FUNCTION, then LANGUAGE to select preferred language.
  2. Set tape width: Ensure loaded tape matches width setting in menu.
  3. Adjust print darkness: Use FUNCTION + PRINT DARKNESS for optimal print quality.
