Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, stable surface.

  1. Connect Power: Plug the AC adapter into the power port on the side of the unit, then plug into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  2. Insert Batteries (Optional): Open battery compartment on the bottom, insert 6 AA batteries observing correct polarity.
  3. Load Tape Cassette: See Section 3 for detailed instructions.
  4. Power On: Press the POWER button. The LCD will illuminate.

WARNING! Use only the provided Brother AC adapter. Do not place near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

Loading Tape Cassette

Ensure the power is OFF before loading tape.

  1. Open the cassette cover by pressing the cover release button and lifting the lid.
  2. Insert a Brother TZe tape cassette into the compartment with the tape end feeding towards the slot and the clear window facing up. Push until it clicks into place.
  3. Feed the tape end gently into the guide slot near the print head.
  4. Close the cassette cover firmly until it clicks.
  5. Power on the unit. The tape indicator on the LCD should be visible.

CAUTION! Do not force the cassette or cover. Use only genuine Brother TZe tapes.

  3. Format your label: Press FONT to choose a style (e.g., Gothic, Script). Press SIZE to select character size. Press FRAME to add a border if desired.
  4. Print: Press the PRINT key. The label will print and automatically cut.

Tip: Press and hold PRINT for multiple copies of the same label.

Advanced Functions

Access advanced features via the FUNCTION key.

  1. Symbols: Press FUNCTION then SYMBOL to insert special characters.
  2. Auto Format: Press FUNCTION then FORMAT for preset layouts (e.g., file folder, cable).
