Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Ensure all items are present and undamaged.

  1. Insert the battery: Open the battery compartment cover, insert the rechargeable battery pack, and close the cover.
  2. Charge the battery: Connect the AC adapter to the label maker and plug it into a standard 120V AC outlet. Charge for approximately 3.5 hours before first use.
  3. Load the label tape: Open the cassette cover, insert a Brother TZe tape cassette with the tape feeding from the bottom, and close the cover firmly.
  4. Power on: Press the POWER button. The LCD display will illuminate.

WARNING! Use only the provided Brother AC adapter and battery. Do not use damaged tapes or cassettes.

First-Time Use

After initial setup, follow these steps to create your first label.

  1. Set language and units: Use the FUNCTION key to access settings. Select your preferred language (default is ENGLISH) and unit of measurement (inch/mm).
  2. Enter text: Use the keyboard to type your label text. The text appears on the LCD.
  3. Format text: Use the FONT, SIZE, and STYLE keys to change the appearance of your text.
  4. Print the label: Press the PRINT key. The label will print and, if Auto-Cut is enabled, be cut automatically.
